A 17-year-old was put in handcuffs in an Omaha neighborhood after a police pursuit that started in Gretna and ended in an Omaha neighborhood last night.
Nebraska State Patrol troopers pursued the black minivan that was reported driving recklessly on Interstate 80 near the Greenwood/Mahoney exit. The patrol says troopers tried to pull the driver of over near mile marker 432, between the Platte River and the Gretna exit before the vehicle fled.
The driver continued eastbound on I-80, then northbound on I-680 before exiting at Pacific Street and traveling to 72nd Street. Investigators say at that point, the driver traveled into residential areas before the patrol and Omaha Police surrounded the vehicle near 76th and Charles streets.
OPD's helicopter assisted in the pursuit.
