Search Continues For Gunman In Omaha's Latest Shooting

Omaha Police continue their search for whoever shot and killed a man and critically wounded another early Sunday morning near 32nd and Seward.

Officers on patrol in the area heard several gunshots around 1:00 a.m. and arrived on the scene to find the two victims.

Investigators say 24 year old Jal Dak died from his injuries and 25 year old Nyoun Joak remains in the hospital with critical injuries.

Officers provided CPR on one of the victims before they were transported to the hospital where Dak later died. Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402 444-STOP.

The murder is the latest in a string of recent shootings. "Multiple incidents like this, it catches people's attention," says Officer Michael Pecha. "But this is something we've handled before and we'll continue to try to make arrests and solve these cases."

Anyone providing a tip that leads to an arrest is eligible for a $25,000 reward.
