An Omaha woman is facing charges in the death of her six month old daughter. 21 year old Carmaleta Price was booked for felony child neglect resulting in death.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine told 6 News what authorities believe happened to the child at the Colonial Apartments near 97th and Maple Streets. "The allegations are that she had been drinking, fell asleep with the child, co-sleeping on the air mattress. Sometime early in the morning hours Monday, she didn't know exactly where the child was. The child had gotten off of the air mattress and was in a plastic bag."
Authorities are waiting on an autopsy to be done on the girl, but Kleine says it appears she suffocated. Price will be in court Wednesday morning.
