Guilty Plea In ISU Star Golfer's Death

The man accused of killing Iowa State University star golfer Celia Barquin Arozamena pleaded guilty to first degree murder.

Story County Attorney Jessica Reynolds says no plea deals were offered to 22 year old Collin Richards .He will be sentenced to mandatory life in prison. Richards had previously pleaded not guilty to the murder and his trial was set to start in September.Instead he will be sentenced on August 23rd.

Barquin Arozamena was stabbed to death last September while playing golf on a public course in Ames. Her body was found in a pond. Richards was homeless and was found in an encampment in the woods near the golf course.
