Omaha Firefighter Passes Away

The Omaha Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of its own.

Fire Department officials say 35-year-old firefighter Jeremy Knott was transported by rescue squad from his home to the Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy yesterday, and later passed away.

The exact cause of death is not known at this time. He was taken to the hospital with C-P-R in progress.

Jeremy Knott joined the Omaha Fire Department in 2007, and became a Fire Apparatus Engineer in 2013. He also served as an O-F-D paramedic.

Omaha Fire Chief Dan Olsen says, "The Omaha Fire Department offers our condolences , thoughts and prayers to his wife and family at this time." Funeral arrangements are pending.
