Preparations Underway For CWS

The City of Omaha is getting ready to host the NCAA Men's College World Series. The Omaha Police Department is also getting ready for the event. Extra officers will be patrolling the riverfront and Old Market areas during the series.

Visitors to the CWS are asked to be aware of the stadium's safety and security measures.

Police ask if you see something, say something. All visitors are asked to be vigilant throughout the games and they urge those with information or see suspicious behavior to notify nearby officers or call 911.Patrons should be aware there is a clear and small bag policy in effect at TD Ameritrade park. Other rules include:

ļ‚· Small or clutch-sized purses or wallets, not exceeding 4.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches long.

ļ‚· One-gallon, clear plastic freezer bags are permitted.

ļ‚· Diaper bags must be clear plastic.

ļ‚· Exceptions will be made for bags of medical necessity after a brief search.

Members of the media will be permitted to bring necessary camera or computer bags through the Gate 4 entrance after inspection.

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED IN THE STADIUM

ļ‚· Oversized, opaque bags of any kind (with the exception of medically necessary bags).

ļ‚· Bottles or cans.

ļ‚· Outside food or drink (20-ounce or smaller, empty, clear-plastic bottles will be allowed for water).

ļ‚· Food or drink coolers.

ļ‚· Frisbee or beach balls.

ļ‚· Large umbrellas.

ļ‚· Laser pointers.

ļ‚· Noise-making devices of any kind (i.e. bells, whistles, horns, etc.).

ļ‚· Fireworks.

ļ‚· Illegal drugs or alcohol.

ļ‚· Weapons of any kind, including lawfully concealed firearms.

ļ‚· Commercial signs or banners without the prior approval of MECA.

ļ‚· Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (drones) are not permitted on MECAā€™s campus.

ļ‚· Selfie-sticks.

ļ‚· Hoverboards.

ļ‚· Any item deemed to challenge public safety.

Banned items must be disposed of before an individual may gain entrance to ballpark.
