An Omaha teen was rushed to the hospital with a serious head injury after he was thrown from his vehicle in a one car, rollover crash around 3:20 this morning.
Omaha Police say 19 year old Cole McCormick was driving a Chevy Cavalier northbound on Abbott Drive when it left the street near Carter Lake Drive East. The car rolled multiple times before hitting a metal light pole.
Investigators say speed and non-use of seat belts were primary factors in the crash. Charges are pending.
With the assistance of Eppley Airport Police, Abbott Drive remained open with head-to- head traffic in the southbound lanes. Abbott was completely reopened by 6 AM.
