Brad Pitt is headed to space. The first trailer for Ad Astra has been released. The release date has changed a few times, but it's settled in for a late summer/early fall debut and the promotion machine has begun.
Director James Gray (The Lost City of Z) has promised this movie will deliver "the most realistic depiction of space travel that's been put in a movie". Ok. Seems like quite a challenge, but I'm up for it. The plot of this movie seems to be a bit of a mystery. Brad Pitt goes to space to find his missing father (played by Tommy Lee Jones). That's pretty much all we have to work on. That and the title. "Ad Astra" means "to the stars" in Latin, which I'll admit isn't much help.
Ad Astra hits theaters September 20th.
