A motorcyclist was killed in a pursuit with the Nebraska State Patrol in Grand Island just after midnight.
At 12:10 a.m., troopers witnessed Kawasaki doing 80 in a 50 mile per hour zone.Troopers tried to stop the motorcycle but the driver took off.
That led to a pursuit.The motorcycle hit speeds of 100 miles per hour, making a number of turns and was seen southbound on Highway 281.The motorcycle then was involved in a crash with a vehicle at an intersection.
The 27 year old male motorcyclist was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.The other driver was not hurt.
Grand Island Police and the Nebraska State Patrol continue to investigate.
