Pregnant Woman Injured In Omaha Interstate Crash

Omaha Police say a pregnant woman was injured after a reckless driver slammed into her Jeep around 6:30 Friday morning on I-80 near 96th Street.

Investigators say a 2006 Jeep Laredo had stopped underneath the 96th Street bridge on the inside shoulder. The pregnant driver had stopped to attend to a child in the back seat.

Police say a westbound 2000 Acura was reportedly weaving back and forth, striking the inside median barrier several times. The Acura then struck the Jeep and the woman who was standing outside tending to the child.

Paramedics took both drivers to the hospital. 22 year old Cinny Tolbert complained of abdominal pain and is under observation for possible pregnancy complications. Her child was properly restrained in a car seat and was uninjured. She was cited for no insurance, no valid registration, and driving during suspension.

The driver of the Acura, 28 year old Joshua Noble of Omaha, suffered a leg injury that is not life threatening. Charges are pending upon receipt of toxicology results.
