Lincoln police officers were called to the Federal Building at 100 Centennial Mall on Wednesday, May 29th just before 12:30 p.m. after a man was arrested for having narcotics inside.
39 year old Michael Eveland had walked in to the building and through a metal detector. That set off an alarm and security officers saw a bulge in his sock.
Eveland was directed to remove the item from his sock and he handed a glass pipe, with suspected meth, to the security officer. Eveland then stated he was ill and asked for a trash can. The security officer then saw Eveland drop a clear baggie into the bin. The baggie contained 0.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Eveland was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
