The metro area was pounded by severe thunderstorms early Tuesday morning. Very heavy rain and hail fell around 4:30 a.m.
OPPD says more than 6,700 customers were without power around 5:00. KFAB listeners sent pictures of several inches of hail in their neighborhoods.
There were a number of vehicles that became stalled as streets flooded. Two drivers were stranded in high water at JE George and Underwood. There were a couple of drivers needing to be rescued near 125th and West Center.
A Flash Flood Warning was in effect until 7:15 a.m.
