Rising Water Impacting Traffic On I-29

There are more travel restrictions along I-29. The Fremont, County Iowa Sheriff's Office said Saturday morning that authorities have shut down the northbound on-ramp and southbound off ramps at I-29's Nebraska City Exit (Exit 10) because of water over the ramps. Authorities said it's uncertain when they'll reopen.

This means if you are southbound on I-29 from Council Bluffs, there is no access to any gas stations until you get to Rock Port, Missouri. Officials say to make sure you have enough fuel to make the trip because first responders have very limited access to the Interstate.

Only weeks after reopening in the wake of historic flooding along the Missouri River in March, the exits for Highway 2 on I-29 have once again closed due to flooding. On Saturday, Exit 34 was the last one open heading southbound on Interstate 29.
