Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Maple Street Crash

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday afternoon after colliding with a vehicle near 80th and Maple.

Omaha Police say around 2:30 p.m. a motorcycle was traveling east on Maple Street when a 2009 Chevy Malibu pulled out from a driveway near the intersection. The motorcycle collided with the Chevy on the driver's side rear door.

Investigators say 30 year old Zachary McCauley of Omaha was wearing a helmet, but was transported to the hospital with serious injuries to the shoulder and face.

Police say charges are pending against McCauley and that speed and impairment are being investigated as factors in his crash.
