Crash at 76th and Military Injures Three, Driver Cited For DUI

Three people were hurt in an accident around 2:40 p.m. at 76th and Military Avenue. Omaha Police investigators say a 2015 Honda Rav4 was heading west on Military when it left the roadway, crossed the raised median and hit an eastbound 1992 Ford Mustang head on.

The impact caused the Ford to spin and that hit a 2005 Toyota Prius that was also headed east. That sent the Prius into a wide arc and ended up along the tree line at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

The driver of the Mustang, 20 year old Stephen Bentley of Omaha suffered a broken arm and a head laceration. He was wearing a seat belt.

59 year old Rennetta Epperson of Omaha was driving the Prius and fractured her neck. She was cited for driving while under suspension and for not using a seat belt. Her passenger, 61 year old Annie McKinney of Omaha was treated for a fractured wrist.

The driver of the Rav4 is identified as 31 year old Klue Taw of Omaha. Taw was not hurt but he was cited for DUI and careless driving.

The roadway was closed for about three hours.
