Former Massage Therapist Sentenced For Sexual Assault

A former Omaha massage therapist is sentenced to 20 to 24 years in prison for attempted sexual assault.

Melvin Buffington was sentenced Tuesday. He will receive 446 days credit for time served. He will also have to register as a sex offender.

Buffington was arrested in February of 2018 after two customers at the Oasis Massage and Spa stepped forward accusing him of assault. More victims then spoke up and that added to extra charges. The assaults happened between July of 2017 and February of 2018.

Twenty-one counts of sexual assault were dropped in a plea deal.
