Omaha Man Sentenced In Deadly Road Rage Incident

Michael Benson will spend decades behind bars for a deadly road rage incident in 2017. Benson was sentenced Tuesday to 67 to 89 years in prison for the shooting death of James Womack at 60th and L.

The 26 year old Benson was convicted of second-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and two counts of tampering with a witness.

Witnesses told police that Womack got out of his semi at 60th and L streets and argued with someone in a pickup truck. Womack was shot and killed as he walked back to his truck.

Benson will be eligible for parole in 37-and-a-half years with mandatory release after 48-and-a-half.
