Motorcyclist Killed In West Omaha Crash

A Valley man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a minivan at 206th and West Maple Sunday morning.

Omaha police say the crash happened just before 7 a.m. when the driver of a minivan tried to turn left onto eastbound West Maple off of 206th Street. The van turned in front of the Harley Davidson that was going west on West Maple.

34 year old Carl Camenzind was knocked off of the motorcycle and taken to the hospital with CPR in progress. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Police say he was wearing a DOT approved helmet.

The 43-year-old minivan driver from Norfolk was not hurt. Police say neither excessive speed nor alcohol use appear to be factors in the crash.
