"Keep Out" Sign At Paradise Lakes

Looters are targeting the Paradise Lakes area that was destroyed in the March flood. A barricade is in place with a sign warning intruders to stay away.

Bellevue Police Lt. Andy Jashinske tells 6 News, “It does make it easy with having it blocked off and no trespassing signs posted. If officers see individuals in that area they can assume they're not supposed to be there and take enforcement action until they know different."

Police told the owners weeks ago to get a sign up and now is one in place.

Officers will keep patrolling the area looking for intruders. In the past few weeks, there have been about 10 cases of people rummaging through former residents belongs. Some people are looking to steal metal to sell.

Paradise Lakes is contaminated and there is a health risk present. The mobile home park will eventually be torn down.
