An in-custody death investigation is underway in Bellevue. Police were called to a home at 21st and Hancock Street at 9:34 a.m. Bellevue officers were wanting to talk with 62 year old Louis Albertson regarding a case they were investigating.
Police knocked on the door and a woman answered. A short time later, detectives heard what was later determined to be a gunshot from inside the house. Additional officers arrived minutes later. Upon entering the house, detectives discovered Albertson with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead.
This will be investigated as an in-custody death. The La Vista Police Department is conducting the investigation and will be assisted by the Douglas County Crime lab. The case is also pending a grand jury investigation.
