A woman is facing charges in the death of her 4 month old granddaughter. Sandra Laravie was arrested last Friday, April 26th after a warrant was issued for her arrest the week before.
Laravie appeared in court today. She had told officers responding she had left the infant alone in a bathtub 'briefly" and tried to revive her. After that failed she called 911.
Officers reported that Laravie was slow in responding to questions and had problems with the through process. Officers found a prescription bottle with medication used to treat insomnia. They looked at the prescription date and found 12 pills missing when only six should have been used.
