The Iowa House and Senate approved a sports betting bill and it is now on the way to Governor Kim Reynolds' desk. The betting would be allowed in casinos or by using a cell phone app.
Reynolds says she will go through the same process as any other bill and she and her team will review the bill before making a decision.
The Iowa racing and Gaming Commission will have authority over betting for professional, college and international sporting events.
Those out-of-state users can download the apps but all bets made would have made while in the state of Iowa. Eight other states now allow sports betting.
