The 11th annual Maha Festival is set for 2019. The four day outdoor music festival will run from August 14 through the 17th at Aksarben Village.
Omaha will welcome rapper and singer Lizzo, indie/folk/soul artist Jenny Lewis, singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett and Brooklyn-based dance punk duo Matt and Kim.
Joining the lineup are garage punk band Oh Sees, rapper Duckwrth, bluesy indie folk artist Matt Maeson, along with Snail Mail and Beach Bunny. Local Omaha acts Muscle Cousins, Domestic Blend, Esencia Latina Band, and DJ SharkWeek round out the lineup.
A concert on Thursday, August 16 at The Waiting Room in Benson, dubbed the Maha Middle Show, will feature indie pop band Pinback and local opener Bach Mai.
Maha Opening Night will kick off the four days of festivities on Wednesday, August 14. Several local venues, including Amplify Arts, OutrSpaces, Tiny House, will host a convergence of art, music, and other pop-up events around the South 13th Street/Little Bohemia neighborhood. Each year, more than 700 volunteers help make Maha happen. Volunteers can sign up for a shift and earn a free event pass at MahaFestival.com/volunteer starting April 18 at 7 p.m.
