Arrests Made In Multi-Agency Operation Targeting Gang

Omaha Police and officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Marshals Service executed an operation targeting narcotics and firearms associated with the TRIP SET gang.

It took place early Wednesday morning in Omaha and six individuals were taken into custody on federal and state charges for weapon and narcotics violations .Authorities also took 41 weapons, ten of which were stolen.They also found about 31 ounces of marijuana.

Officials say the TRIP SET gang funds their operation through violent crime that include armed robberies, home invasions, burglaries, credit card fraud and by selling drugs.They say between June and October of 2018, the gang was responsible for six felony assaults.TRIP SET has been in the Omaha metro area for about three years and have more than 150 documented members in Omaha.

Along with the arrests made today, six other gang members were in custody and one suspect remains on the run.

They include: Jai Chuar, Kuiny Gach, Ammanuel Jiel, Emmanuel John, Kandaru John, Gatroul Puol, Giel Riak, Reuben Rowe, Dajuan Sharron, Kan Tap and Loing Yar.
