Dog Dies In Townhouse Fire

Omaha firefighters were called to a townhouse at 129th and C Plaza around 3:15 Thursday afternoon.Crews saw the smoke coming from the building.it took them about 15 minutes to get the fire under control.

No one was home at the time.A neighbor was able to pull two dogs from the burning home before firefighters arrived.The Humane Society was called as one dog died in the fire.

The Red Cross was called to help two people that were displaced.The home will need repairs before it can be lived in again.

Investigators determined the fire was accidental and caused by an electrical malfunction.
