The Sarpy County Board Tuesday voted to waive permit fees for residents and property owners working to repair, renovate or demolish homes damaged by flooding.
“People dealing with a flooded home are already facing a large financial burden without the additional cost of permit fees,” said Sarpy County Board Chair Don Kelly. “Our main objective is to make it as easy as possible for people to repair their homes and rebuild their lives.”
All building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and floodplain development permit fees to repair or renovate structures affected by the flood have been waived.The Board also waived the permit fees to demolish structures damaged by the flood.
if the property owner chooses to rebuild after the home was demolished, they are responsible for permit fees associated with the new construction.
