Two Men Arrested After Bluffs Robbery, Pursuit.

Two men are behind bars after a bank robbery and vehicle pursuit on Friday afternoon in Council Bluffs. The robbery happened at the US Bank on 34th Ave. just before 2:15 p.m.

Police say one man went into the bank and displayed a note demanding money while the other man waited in the car. No weapon was displayed during the robbery and no one was injured.

The teller handed over cash and the men fled, but witnesses were able to provide a vehicle description to officers. The green Honda Pilot with Nebraska plates was spotted headed eastbound on Interstate 80. Officers located the vehicle and began a pursuit.

Police used a P.I.T Maneuver to stop the vehicle at Railroad Highway and Highway 6 and the men were taken into custody without incident. 49 year old Patrick Spagnotti of Omaha was charged with robbery, theft, reckless driving, felony eluding and two outstanding warrants.

40 year old George McGinness of Colfax, Iowa was charged with robbery and theft. The FBI assisted the police department in the investigation.
