Storm Chasers Announce“Omaha Potholes Night”

What began as an April Fools' Day prank has paved the way for a a unique promotion for the Omaha Storm Chasers. "Omaha Potholes Night" is set for for Wednesday, April 24.

"We are minor league baseball, this is what we do," says Chasers General Manager Martie Cordaro. "Obviously this is a hot button topic in the metro area."

In addition to pothole-related on-field games, baseball-related items will be auctioned off during that night's game to raise money through Chasers Charities to help restore little league fields damaged by the historic floods in the Omaha Metro community.

The Storm Chasers are currently in the process of filling in the rest of the details for that night's activities, which will be announced in the near future. "We've all struggled with the tough winter and this is a way to take a step back, have a little fun, make light of what the weather has been."

Cordaro says a limited run of Omaha Potholes shirts and caps are now available to be pre-ordered through the Storm Front Team Store. 20% of the proceeds will go to help restore the little league fields.

The Storm Chasers begin the 2019 season on the road against the Memphis Redbirds on April 4. Opening Night at Werner Park is set for Tuesday, April 9 versus the Oklahoma City Dodgers,
