Salvation Army To Open Third Metro-Area Disaster Relief Center

The Salvation Army Western Division will open a third metro-area Disaster Resource Center this week.

The Sarpy-Cass DRC will be located inside the former JC Penney store in Bellevue at Southroads Mall and will focus on serving the Sarpy County and Cass County communities. The new DRC will open at 9:00 AM on Thursday, April 4th.

This DRC will join two other area DRCs already in operation, near 84th and Center in Omaha and another at 715 N. 16th St. in Council Bluffs, to make for the total of three distinct operations providing people in need with flood-relief items.

The Sarpy-Cass DRC will serve as a distribution center where people in need can come to pick up flood-relief items. Plus, the Bellevue Christian Center will be partnering with The Salvation Army starting Thursday as the Christian Center is relocating its ongoing disaster-relief operation and inventory to the Sarpy-Cass DRC.

The Sarpy-Cass DRC’s operating hours will be as follows:

  • Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Sunday from noon - 5:00 PM

The Sarpy-Cass DRC will remain open until further notice.
