Free Screenings For Visually Impaired At Baxter Arena

People who are experiencing the loss of their vision for the first time have many questions about how to live with visual impairment, and getting familiar with all the programs and services available in the community and navigating them can be overwhelming.

This Saturday and Sunday the Outlook Nebraska Vision Resource Fair will be held at Baxter Arena and will provide a place to have questions answered and make learning about these programs and services an easier process.

Representatives from more than 20 organizations that serve the visually impaired will be in one place with information, technology and services for the visually impaired.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days, free vision screenings will be provided for all ages courtesy of area Lions Clubs. Information and resources related to the following also will be available at the Vision Resource Fair:

·Managing eye conditions

·Living independently

·Enjoying social, cultural and recreational activities

·Working or returning to work

·Getting around town

·Using digital eyewear and other new technology

·Handling stress, change and emotional health.
