MUD Providing Assistance To Neighboring Districts Impacted By Flooding

Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha is providing assistance to communities in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa that are impacted by flooding. The District continues to meet supply requirements of its customers in the metro Omaha area and its drinking water continues to meet all state and federal standards.

This past week, the City of Blair received M.U.D. water to supplement its domestic supply to meet capacity demands from its water treatment plant. The wholesale agreement is through the Natural Resources District Rural Water Project.

Also, M.U.D. is providing its emergency water tank truck in the YMCA parking lot in Glenwood, IA, on Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22, from 12 to 7 p.m. Residents can bring up to two one-gallon jugs to fill with water at a time.

M.U.D. will assist victims of the flood with their M.U.D. gas and water utilities by suspending billing, inspecting gas and water services, and payment plans. Please contact M.U.D. at 402.554.6666 for assistance.

M.U.D. provides drinking water to customers in Omaha, Bellevue, Bennington, Carter Lake, La Vista, Ralston, Waterloo and the Papio-Missouri Natural Resources District - which supplies water to Fort Calhoun.
