Omaha Police have identified the man who was killed in a bizarre crash on southbound I-480 near Woolworth Street late Monday morning. Investigators say 57 year old Frederick Cox was eastbound on Woolworth in a Cadillac Deville around 10:45 drifted to the left.
The vehicle then left the road, went through a chain link fence and vaulted onto the interstate below. The Cadillac struck two vehicles before colliding with the concrete median barrier. It then flipped over into the northbound lane. Cox died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Police are still trying to determine what caused Cox to lose control.
