Omaha Fire Department Offering Mutual Aid To Fremont Fire

Omaha firefighters headed west to help Fremont Fire in the wake of historic flooding.This is part of a mutual aid agreement to relieve those personnel who have battling the floodwater for days.

One battalion chief and four firefighters left Omaha around 8:30 this morning to start a 24 hour shift.They will respond to all fire, EMS and rescue calls within the city of Fremont.

The crew will remain on duty until 7 a.m. Thursday when another group of five Omaha firefighters will arrive in Fremont to take over the calls.Omaha Fire will continue to assist Fremont until the end of the week.

All Omaha Fire Department operations will continue as normal during this event.
