The Sarpy County Sheriff's Department has issued evacuation orders for residents in the Linoma Beach area as the Platte River continues ro rise. Authorities say the river is currently flowing over Biel’s Dike at Capehart Road.
That is just north of Hwy 6 & Linoma Beach. At around 8:30 Wednesday evening the sheriff's department was asking all citizens living in the vicinity of Riverside Acres, Beacon View and Linoma Beach to evacuate immediately. Deputies were going door-to-door making sure residents were leaving the area.
Currently, the Platte River is not flowing onto Hwy 6, so the highway is still open.
