Council Bluffs Police say a 24 year old man is behind bars after stabbing his mother and barricading himself inside the house Thursday afternoon. Officers were called to 300 block of Platner Street around 2:00. One of the officers found a woman outside who had several lacerations on her upper body and throat.
58 year old Lisa Dietz told officers that she was assaulted by her adult son, who lives with her in her home. She was transported to UNMC for treatment and police say her injuries are non-life threatening.
24 year old Dylan Goodman locked himself in the house leading to a brief standoff. Police eventually forced their way inside and Goodman was taken into custody without incident. Goodman was booked for Attempted Murder, Willful Injury, Serious and Aggravated Domestic Abuse with use of a Weapon.
