A woman found unresponsive in a Bellevue snowbank on Tuesday morning has died.
The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office says 53 year old Christine Koory died after being taken to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition. Investigators say Koory was discovered by employees at the Baxter car dealership near 19th and Chandler just after 8:30 Tuesday morning.
Sgt. Mark Topil said that Koory was not dressed appropriately for the extremely cold temperatures. "No shoes, no coat. Just wearing a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt." Topil says they aren't sure how long Koory was out in the frigid temperatures, or why she was there. Koory lived in an apartment about six blocks from where she was found.
The incident remains under investigation and an autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.
