Omaha Man Found Guilty Of Road Rage Murder

The man Omaha Police arrested for the road rage killing of a truck driver in September of 2017 has been convicted of second-degree murder and other felonies, including witness tampering.

Michael Benson was found guilty Wednesday in Douglas County Court of second-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and two counts of tampering with a witness.

Witnesses told Omaha Police say Womack got out of his truck at 60th and L streets and argued with someone in a pickup truck. Womack was shot several times as he returned to his truck.

Benson was initially charged as an accessory, but as the investigation continued, the charges were upgraded to second degree murder.
