A 17 year old male student at Brook Valley School near 110th and Harrison in La Vista was arrested Wednesday morning for bringing a gun to school.
LaVista Police were called to the school by administrators after a student alerted staff members the 17-year-old had a handgun in his coat pocket. The principal confronted the student and confiscated the unloaded handgun without incident.
Police say the student is from Gretna and there is no evidence that he intended to harm anyone and no threats were made.
Brook Valley School is a non-traditional school for students who are unable to function successfully in their local schools due to behavioral difficulties
