An arrest has been made in a fatal hit and run crash at 20th and Martha.
Omaha Police say 23 year old Vicente Olague was arrested on Tuesday in connection to the February 8th crash. Authorities say the Dodge Caliber believed to be involved in the crash was spotted near 36th Ave. and L Street, which led to an investigation and Olague's arrest.
Just after 9:00 PM on Friday February 8th, officers were called to the area of 20th and Martha for a personal injury hit and run involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that 36 year old Eli Keenan was walking westbound at about mid-block in the traffic lane when he was struck by a vehicle, which then fled. Keenan was transported to Nebraska Medicine with serious, life threatening injuries to his abdomen and pelvis. He later succumbed to his injuries on February 20th.
Olague is facing charges of Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident Which Results in Death and Driving During Suspension. He also has two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for previous traffic offenses.
