There were some anxious moments in a Gretna neighborhood Tuesday morning as a school bus plowed through a front yard of in an apparent attempt by the driver to avoid hitting another vehicle.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. at 213th and Lincoln Blvd. There were 11 students on board the bus at the time, but no one was injured.
The Assistant Transportation Director told 6 News the brakes went out of the bus. School officials say the driver has been driving school buses for the district for the last five years.
Witnesses say another bus arrived at the scene to transport the students to school.
