Bellevue Woman Found Unresponsive In A Snowbank

Employees at a Bellevue car dealership made a startling discovery Tuesday morning. Around 8:30, employees at the Baxter dealership near 19th and Chandler found a woman down in a snowbank right outside of the business.

Sgt. Mark Topil with the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB that the woman, believed to be between the ages of 50 and 60, was not dressed appropriately for the extremely cold temperatures. "No shoes, no coat. Just wearing a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt." Topil says they aren't sure how long the woman had been down or why she was there. He says they do believe that she lives in an apartment complex about six blocks from the dealership where she was found.

Topil says the woman was unresponsive when the employees spotted her. "They were having a business meeting, I guess, upstairs and someone looked out the window and said, 'Hey, I think someone is laying in the snow.'"

The woman was taken to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition and the investigation is ongoing.
