A reported abduction led to a police pursuit Sunday evening. It ended with Omaha Police finding a woman in the trunk of the car. Omaha Police responded to 48th and Wirt Street around 6:00 pm to investigate a report of an abduction in progress.
The caller told police that a man in a black Cadillac had abducted a woman. Officers located the suspect vehicle near 48th and Bedford Avenue and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop. Officers pursued the vehicle until it crashed near 46th Avenue and Miami Street.
After a short foot pursuit officers took the driver, Robert Williams, into custody. Officers located the woman in the trunk of the Cadillac. Paramedics transported Williams and the woman to the Nebraska Medical Center.
The investigation is still ongoing.
