A Burt County Sheriff's Deputy escaped injury after someone fired a shot at him late last night on Highway 75 near Tekamah.
The deputy was called to check on the well-being of a man whose family was concerned he was suicidal. The sheriff's department says the family of the man was concerned he would harm himself.
The responding deputy found the man sitting in his car on Highway 75. When he approached the man, he shot at the deputy and missed.
The deputy called for back-up, including a K-9 unit, and were able to apprehend the man and transport him to a Norfolk hospital.
