School is back open for Tuesday, but Omaha Public School officials are reminding parents and students that the snowy conditions could still lead to some problems. In a statement from the district Tuesday morning, parents were encouraged to allow extra travel time this morning and ensure that students are dressed warmly.
We understand that some residential areas remain snow-packed. Students should exercise care at bus stops and stand as far away from the street as possible. School buses could be delayed due to slick roads. Please remind students in advance that if their school bus has not arrived after 15 minutes of the scheduled pickup time, the student should return back to a sheltered location.
If parents have questions about the status of their child’s bus, they should contact Student Transportation at 531-299-0140.
