UNO Exploring Repair Options On Collapsed Dome

The University of Nebraska at Omaha will be working with a repair contractor to assess its damaged Center Street Dome and determine whether repairs are possible.

Yeadon Domes, a Minneapolis-based company, will be sending representatives to Omaha to conduct the assessment later this week.

The dome collapsed during the winter storm on Saturday night. No one was in the dome at the time. The adjoining clubhouse was not damaged.

The dome is managed by UNO Campus Recreation and used by Athletics, intramurals, sports clubs and community youth groups.

Campus Recreation will be working with all affected groups to identify alternate accommodations. UNO officials say the dome was used every day of the week and they hope to replace it as soon as possible.
