Lincoln Police say a 79 year old Nebraska City man was killed in a crash with a semi-tractor trailer in Lincoln Thursday morning. It happened around 9:30 at South 91st and Highway 2.
The investigation indicates that a stopped westbound semi was struck from behind by a westbound Ford Explorer. Lincoln Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced the driver dead at the scene. He's identified as identified as 79 year old Thomas Funke of Nebraska City.
The semi driver wasn't hurt. Seat belts were in use and police say there is no indication that alcohol was a factor. The accident is still under investigation.
