Advisory Issued For Missing Auburn, Nebraska Man

The search continues for a missing Auburn, Nebraska man who hasn't been seen since Sunday. Authorities say 65 year old Rick Kubes suffers from a medical condition and was on his way to the Auburn hospital from Clay Center, Kansas, but he never arrived. An Endangered Missing Advisory was issued for Kubes on Monday.

He was driving a silver, 2010 Ford Ranger pickup with personalized Nebraska plates: "KUMFISH." The truck has a black bug guard and a Big Red "N" sticker on the back, driver's side window. There is also a cooler and red two-wheel appliance cart in the back.

Kubes was reportedly last seen wearing a dark long sleeve shirt with a dark green windbreaker and blue jeans. He wore a red/white ball cap, red in the front with mesh in the back and was wearing glasses. He is 5'10, 175 pounds with white hair and a large white mustache. He was last seen between 8:00 and 8:30 Sunday morning in Clay Center, Kansas before he left to return to his home in Auburn, about 2.5 hours from Clay Center.

The missing man typically travels from Clay Center north on K-15 to Highway 36 then eastbound on 77 then North to Beatrice Nebraska and then east on 136 to Auburn. His family states that he doesn’t travel outside this normal route.

According to Kansas authorities, Kubes was in pain when he left Clay Center bound for the hospital in Auburn. He does have a phone but is not answering it.
