Former Children's Pharmacy Director Pleads Guilty To Wire Fraud

Former Children's Hospital and Medical Center pharmacy director Lisa Kwapniowski has pleaded guilty to wire fraud.

According to terms of a settlement with the Nebraska Department of Health and Humans Services, the 49 year old Kwapniowski admitted to allegations that she embezzled $4.4 million from the hospital by billing for a make-believe drug. She additionally agreed to relinquish her pharmacy license for at least two years.

Kwapniowski was the pharmacy director at Children's until this past summer, when she was fired. She will have to repay the money and could get up to 20 years behind bars.
