Teen Sentenced In Fatal Drug Deal Shooting

A fifteen year old Omaha boy is headed to prison for murder.

On Wednesday, a Douglas County judge sentenced Tyon Wells to 22 to 45 years behind bars for the shooting death of seventeen year old Zachary Parker. Last Fall, prosecutors dropped three other felony charges in exchange for Wells' No Contest plea to Second Degree Murder.

Authorities say a then-fourteen year old Wells shot Parker following a would be drug deal near 25th and Crown Point in February of 2018. Police say, Wells fired three shots into a moving car after the drug deal broke down, fatally wounding Parker and injuring another seventeen year old.
