Douglas County Corrections Officer Arrested For Embezzlement

A Douglas County corrections officer is behind bars, accused of embezzling funds from an F.O.P Lodge.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office says around 4:00 Wednesday afternoon, 43 year old Daniel Glazebrook was arrested for embezzling money from the Douglas County Corrections F.O.P. Lodge 8. Glazebrook is a Correctional Officer for Douglas County and was the treasurer of F.O.P. Lodge 8.

The Lodge 8 Executive Board reportedly recently discovered unusual transactions and missing funds from the F.O.P. bank account. A review of documents indicated that Glazebrook had been embezzling funds for the past three years. The missing funds amount to over $170,000.

Glazebrook was booked into the Sarpy County Jail and charged with Felony Theft, Felony Forgery and Felony Unauthorized Use of a Transaction Device. The business address of the lodge is in Sarpy County which is why the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.

On Thursday, Glazebrook made his first court appearance, where bond was set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for February 19th.

On Thursday afternoon Mike Meyers, director of the Douglas County Department of Corrections released this statement:

"The Douglas County Department of Corrections is aware of the allegations against Sgt. Daniel Glazebrook regarding funds belonging to the Fraternal Order of Police-Lodge 8. This matter does not involve any taxpayer dollars or funds belonging to inmates housed at the Douglas County Department of Corrections. As a result of the ongoing criminal investigation, Sgt. Glazebrook has been placed on administrative leave. As this is both a pending criminal investigation and personnel issue, the Douglas County Department of Corrections will have no further comment at this time."
